Liebevoll Cafe in Seongju – A Garden Cafe Near Daegu

Mukbot found Liebevoll while looking for a cafe that felt worth leaving the city for.

Set in the mountains of Seongju, not far from Daegu, it turned out to be much more than a place to stop for coffee. The visit included landscaped gardens, a mountain stream, quiet indoor spaces, animals, and desserts that were just as memorable as the setting.

The garden was what stayed with Mukbot most.

The seasonal peach parfait came surprisingly close.

Why Liebevoll Stood Out

The drive to Liebevoll already felt different from heading to a typical city cafe. The road became quieter, with mountains and greenery surrounding the route as Mukbot got closer.

After parking, a long-haired black cat came over near the parking area, making the arrival a little more memorable.

Approaching the entrance, Mukbot could hear dreamy, almost amusement-park-like music coming from the cafe grounds.

At first it seemed like background music. Once inside the garden, though, it became part of the experience.

After ordering drinks and desserts, Mukbot received a wristband for access to the garden.

The wristband made the visit feel less like a quick coffee stop and more like entering a place designed to be explored.

The menu prices felt high for an ordinary cafe, but the visit also extended well beyond the table.

The Garden and Mountain Stream

The garden was much larger than it first appeared.

The surrounding mountains blend into the landscaped grounds, so parts of the property feel closer to a garden retreat than a conventional cafe.

One of the most unusual features is the mountain stream running through the grounds.

On a hot day, Mukbot cooled off by dipping feet into the water while exploring the garden.

That is not something Mukbot normally expects to find during a cafe visit.

During Mukbot's visit, white hydrangeas were in full bloom.

Some paths opened into flower-filled areas, while others became narrow green corridors surrounded by trees.

The changing scenery kept the garden from feeling repetitive, and the music playing throughout the property gave the whole place a slightly dreamlike atmosphere.

There was one practical downside.

The grounds are large enough that, after the pager went off to signal that the order was ready, Mukbot spent a little time figuring out how to get back to the cafe entrance.

The garden map provided at the cafe was charming, but it was not especially easy to follow.

Animals and Quiet Indoor Spaces

Four pugs were in a separate garden area.

Their space included grass and a small stream, making it feel like another part of the landscaped grounds rather than a simple enclosure.

There were also cats around the garden.

One of the beige cats was cautious at first but eventually allowed Mukbot to come close enough for a gentle pet.

After spending time outside, stepping back into the air-conditioned cafe was very welcome.

The interior is larger than it first seems, with several spaces that feel quite different from one another.

Mukbot chose a second-floor area that felt a little like an attic or wooden cabin.

There were seats where visitors could take off their shoes and relax, windows looking out toward green trees and mountains, and shelves with books and comics.

It would be easy to spend a quiet afternoon here even after finishing the garden walk.

What Mukbot Ordered

Mukbot ordered four items:

  • Seasonal French Summer Garden Peach Parfait
  • Award-Winning Americano, ordered decaf
  • Croissant
  • French Crème Brûlée

Seasonal French Summer Garden Peach Parfait

The peach parfait was the most visually striking item on the table.

Thin slices of peach were arranged almost like flower petals over the top.

At ₩28,300, the parfait felt expensive, but its appeal was not only visual.

The peach was paired with a cold, sweet-tart sorbet, while nuts added a contrasting crunch.

The mix of soft fruit, cold sorbet and crisp nuts kept the texture changing from one bite to the next.

It was the dessert Mukbot remembered most from the visit.

Croissant

The croissant had a rich buttery and nutty aroma as soon as it reached the table.

The inside showed distinct pastry layers, and the croissant was served with raspberry jam containing whole berries.

It worked well both plain and with the jam: richer and more buttery on its own, brighter and sweeter with the fruit.

French Crème Brûlée

The crème brûlée was another dessert Mukbot especially enjoyed.

Breaking through the firm caramelized top with a spoon revealed a smooth, rich custard underneath.

The contrast between the brittle caramel layer and soft custard was the best part.

Award-Winning Americano

Mukbot ordered the Americano in a decaf version.

It was smooth, with a mild nutty aroma and an easy finish that did not feel heavy after walking around the garden.

Is Liebevoll Worth the Trip?

Liebevoll is not the kind of cafe Mukbot would judge only by the price of a cup of coffee.

The prices felt high compared with an ordinary cafe, and the garden map could have been easier to understand.

But the experience itself is also quite different.

The mountain setting, large garden, stream, seasonal flowers, animals, indoor reading spaces and desserts all combine into a place designed for spending time rather than simply ordering a drink and leaving.

For couples looking for a different kind of day trip, families wanting time in nature, or travelers looking for a garden cafe near Daegu, Liebevoll is easy to recommend.

Mukbot would return with family or friends so they could experience the place for themselves.
